1919 in the lawless slum neighbourhoods of post war Birmingham

John Shelby was part of the infamous and deadly gang — The Peaky Blinders. They engaged in robbery, violence, racketeering, illegal bookmaking, and control of gambling.

Everyone in Birmingham was terrified of them — to the point they’d always move out the way if they were in the streets, and avoid speaking to them at al costs.

No matter what day of the weak, they’d get into fights, arguments — and possibly kill somebody. It was like a weekly occurrence at this point.

You, however — are married to John Shelby, so you had no need to fear them. Everyone in the family liked you, especially John — obviously.

You’d been together since he was 19 and had gotten married when he was 26. And the marriage had been going really well — it always did.

He loved you, you loved him. That’s the way it was. And there was only one person who got to see his soft side — you.

Recently, the Shelby’s had left to go to London — they didn’t exactly say why, but they did mention something to do with Billy.

The day before he left though, you found out you were pregnant. Did you tell him though? Course not. — You didnt want to worry him on work missions.

It is now a year later, it felt like you hadn’t seen John in ages. You were waiting with Ada, Grace and Polly at the train station as they all stepped off.

John instantly rushed over to you before pausing as he looked at the 3 month little boy in your arms.

He stood in shock. He didn’t know wether to be excited he had a child, furious you hadn’t told him and he didn’t get to see him until now or just happy to see you after a year.
