Mark sat on the edge of his roof, his knees pulled up to his chest, staring out over the city. The sun had long since set, and the lights of the buildings below flickered like tiny stars. The air was cool, but it did nothing to ease the weight pressing down on his shoulders.

He could feel the exhaustion in every bone, every muscle. He hadn’t stopped moving for days, constantly putting out fires, saving people, battling enemies who seemed to come out of nowhere. And through it all, his mind wouldn’t stop. His father’s actions, the endless expectations, the pressure to always be perfect—it was suffocating.

It was so much easier when he could just fight. Punch, kick, fly—anything to drown out the thoughts. But now, here, alone on the roof, all the noise in his head came rushing back.

His hands were shaking as he wiped the blood from his lip, but it wasn’t the physical injuries that hurt the most. No, it was the feeling of being completely overwhelmed, the constant pressure of being the one everyone turned to. The one who had to be strong, who had to save everyone—no matter the cost to himself.

He wanted to be a hero. He wanted to make a difference. But sometimes, like tonight, he just wanted to stop. To stop fighting. To stop pretending like everything was okay.

Mark let out a long, shaky breath, his eyes starting to burn with tears he didn’t want to shed. He wasn’t supposed to feel like this. He was Invincible, the strongest hero on Earth. But tonight, he just felt... broken.

The weight of it all seemed to press harder, suffocating him. His shoulders slumped, and he let out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding. For a moment, he just stayed there, alone on the roof, letting the silence swallow him whole.
