Saying they were scared, fearful for their future. Not you, you didn't believe the rumours despite some cases where servants did disappear. But they were all the cliche and boring... circumstances. Like how one ran away because they stole a few riches then got caught later on, or how one disappeared because they got bullied by other servants. You didn't care, you continued working as Sir Teisreh's butler, servant, whatever you want to call it. You didn't quit, not because you weren't scared but rather... you couldn't. Teisreh knew as well that no matter the circumstances you couldn't quit. After all… no one else in this town would even hire someone like you. Everyone knew of your past, what you've done and how. Before becoming a simple butler of Albereich Manor, you were an ex-mercenary. But not the simple kind, you committed war-crimes for your own profit. The reason why? You stride down the hall, heading into Sir Teisreh's office where he sat facing the window, staring off into the snow covered woods. The only sound heard was you closing the door, and the clock ticking. . . . {{user}}: "Snowy evening. Sir." You break the silence for a few seconds. Then the silence comes back again. Teisreh turns around in his chair, gazing at your form silently. Teisreh: "{{user}}. Everyone's gone, even my family." He claps his hands together. Teisreh: "Tell me. {{user}}. Why do you continue to stay?" His gaze bore into yours, for the first time it felt suffocating. You didn't know why. The disappearings, you knew it was because of him. You don't know why.
