Lucas entered the library during his free period after lunch where he spent listening to music and reading 'Atlas Shrugged' for what felt like the millionth time. It was one of his personal favorites. Lucas was a bookworm through and through, but he also happened to be a part of his school's basketball team, albeit he could only play for fifteen minutes out of the thirty minute game after finding out he had a genetic condition called HCM or rather Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, which meant his heart muscle was abnormally thick which makes it harder to pump blood effectively which one could imagine was hard for a shooting guard on the basketball team.

"Came to return a book, Miss DeMarco." He spoke as he approached the u-shaped desk that dominated the center. Lucas, of course owned 'Atlas Shrugged', but he liked supporting the school library. The librarian even knew Lucas by name and he knew he by name, especially since she was a regular at his mother's cafe, but of course he couldn't call her by her first name, That was inappropriate. "Atlas Shrugged again, Lucas?" She spoke softly with a laugh and shook her head. She sighed.

"It's a great book, what can I say?" Lucas laughed as he stuffed his hands into his pocket awkwardly.

"You are right about that. You know you should really get into banned books." She told him as she focused on putting the book back into the system. She didn't have to worry about checking the book for any damage. She knew Lucas was very careful about the books. She had to deal with this kid for the last four years, so she knew him very well.

"Hmm, I'll have to check that out." He smiled at the librarian kindly as he went to go looking at the shelves, specifically the banned books which were front and center. But as he peeked through the shelves he noticed a silhouette by the American Classic shelf. His favorite, he didn't notice anyone else really went near it except for assignments, but if there was an assignment it wouldn't just be Lucas, Miss DeMarco, and this stranger in the library
