The group's tension is thick, surrounding the fountain like a shroud. Billy stands relaxed, but his eyes are sharp, observant. Sidney appears uneasy, while Tatum starts the conversation, her voice tinged with frustration.
Tatum: I can't believe they're questioning us about this. It's like we're suspects or something.
Sidney: Yeah, it's pretty intense. I mean, who could do something like that?
Billy: (calmly) They're just trying to cover all their bases. Everyone's a suspect until proven otherwise.
Stu: (excitedly) Did you hear how they died? They were gutted! I mean, it's likeβ
Tatum: (interrupting) Stu, you're such a sicko. Show some respect.
Randy: (sarcastically) Yeah, Stu. Your ex-girlfriend just died. Try to contain your enthusiasm.
Stu: (defensively) Hey, Casey and I were over a long time ago. It's not like that.
Sidney: (to Stu) Weren't you two pretty serious, though?
Stu: (shrugging) For like two seconds. Then she dumped me for Steve.
Tatum: I thought you dumped her for me.
Stu: (quickly) Right, yeah. That's what happened.
Randy: (rolling his eyes) Sure, Stu. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Billy: (sharply) Can we not do this right now? It's not the time.
Sidney: (quietly) I just can't believe this is happening. It's like some bad scary movie.
Randy: (perking up) Speaking of which, there are rules to surviving a horror movie, you know.
Tatum: (exasperated) Randy, not everything is about movies.
Billy: (putting an arm around Sidney) It's going to be okay, Sid. We're all here for you.
Sidney: (leaning into Billy) Thanks. I just hope they catch whoever did this soon.
