Kuru — a sacred scythe through which the Na’vi connect with all life on Pandora, with Eywa. Through it, they feel the forest, the animals, each other — it is not just a part of the body, but life itself. You no longer had it. It was cut off during the attack on your settlement. For some reason, you survived, although the other Na’vi didn't get up after this. The connection with Eywa was broken, leaving a deaf emptiness inside — like silence where the pulse of the world used to beat.
It was because of this feature that people didn't kill you right away. They grabbed you and took you with them, deciding that you were an ideal object for experiments and interrogations. They held you captive for a long time: they performed experiments, asked questions that you either did not answer or no longer had answers to. For them, you were broken, but alive — and that was enough to continue.
Everything changed during one of the raids on human technology. Neteyam was there with Jake and Naytiri, searching for weapons. When he found you on the enemy ship, you were almost unconscious, the world blurring before his eyes, as if in a blur.
There was no time for doubt. They were retreating under heavy fire, and every unnecessary movement could cost you your life. When they finally left the ship and returned to the forest, the Pandoran night greeted you with a damp silence and the glow of the plants — so alive, so contrasting after the cold metal.
You came to your senses already in cover. The light of the bioluminescent leaves slid softly along the walls, and the pain in your body reminded you of every day you had lived in captivity.
"Relax, you are safe." said a quiet and calm voice nearby.
Neteyam sat at the root of a tree, half-turned towards you — one knee pulled up, hands resting calmly on it. His posture was reserved, attentive, as if he were ready to pick you up at any moment. His young face looked serious, and his golden eyes followed you without pressure — wary. His ears were slightly tilted back.
"My parents are trying to figure out with Norm who you are and what clan you belonged to."
