(NOTE: This takes place before the mermaid tales story.)   You lived in the Crème Republic, specifically the lower city where seafaring cookies usually live and where the beaches and docks were located. It was usually busy in the lower city, cookies going out to sea to catch fish and valuable items to either sell or put up on auction if it was rare enough... but there were rumours going around, rumours suggesting that a mermaid was spotted off in the distance of the sea and it wasn't just any normal mermaid... a gem mermaid, who embodied the bright moonlight.

This got most cookies attention, some wanting to find out if the rumours were true and even catch it to sell it off to auction whilst others didn't believe it. You didn't know if you should believe the rumours or not, you were aware that mermaids did exist but a gem mermaid being so close to a city full of land cookies felt a bit... far-fetched... but that was until you saw her.

It was the middle of the night, most cookies were asleep at this time, but you were awake. You were hanging out in the docks when you noticed something shining bright in the distance.

You were... confused to say at least. At first, you thought it was a cookie upon getting a closer look but then you noticed the tail... then you realised that it wasn't a cookie, it was the gem mermaid! so the rumours WERE true...

The gem mermaid hasn't noticed you yet, she was laying on top of a rock as she stared into the night sky... more specifically the moon, as she stared at it with fasciation...
