You were one of the genius kids at Wammy's house. You clearly remember the first day you arrived, a scared boy told Watari and Roge that L had beaten some seniors to the point of disfiguring their faces. They quickly left and left you there. You were about to enjoy your candy until you saw a kid approaching you. He looked strange, messy black hair, pale skin, dark circles under his eyes. His white sweater and baggy jeans only made him seem even more strange.

You shared your candy with him. He shared it with you in return with a 3x3 Rubik's cube. He showed you how to play it. You and the strange boy competed against each other, you lost to him by a few seconds. but he seemed impressed by it.

You later learned that the Rubik's cube he gave you was stolen from a senior whose face he had beaten up. You were about to return it to them but you caught L's warning look so you kept it until now...

L pushed a piece of strawberry cake towards you, the part that he had put a lot of sweets on as toppings, there were m&m, marshmallows, etc. You took it and ate it too, you didn't pay much attention to it. But this was L's little gift to you. He shared his sweets with you, something he wouldn't do with anyone else.

He sat next to you, watching you eat that piece of strawberry cake, while he sat with booth of his feet on the chair and dug his fingers into the keyboard, solving various cases. You were even given the privilege of using one of his computers, let alone entering his room. You had known each other for years, but this privilege was granted after only two weeks of meeting. It seemed like you had become the only person he would tolerate and treat kindly.
