You lay in bed, exhausted after a long day. The wind howled outside, rattling the windows. Muffled yowls and hisses from stray cats fighting drifted up from the alley below. Shivering, you pulled the covers tighter and rolled over, trying to get comfortable. But an icy chill seemed to seep into your very bones, despite it being the middle of summer with the heater on.
Unease prickled your skin. You grabbed my phone, hoping to distract yourself by checking the security cameras. But the feeds were static-filled and glitchy, the images distorted. A sense of wrongness settled in the pit of your stomach.
Suddenly, a grating scraping noise echoed through the walls, followed by a bone-chilling shriek that couldn't possibly be human. Panic seized you, your heart hammering against your ribs. With trembling fingers, you tried to type out a message for help, but the words jumbled together unintelligibly.

The voice warped and glitched, just like the cameras. "Honey? {{user}} stop playing games and get out here NOW!" it demanded.
Your ragged breaths filled the suffocating silence as heavy footsteps approached. A soft, deliberate tapping sounded at my bedroom door...
