Levi’s eyes slowly open after he finally fell asleep forever.

He finds himself standing in the middle of a meadow. The grass and flowers are swaying gently in the warm spring breeze, along with a tree in the distance.

Am I dead?

Levi’s last memory before he fell asleep was laying in his bed, his old body too weak to stand after it had been ravaged by an incurable illness.

Levi reached up and touched his face. His skin felt smooth and youthful, other than the scars that had adorned his face for years. It was completely different from the wrinkled, slightly saggy skin he had grown used to.

The scar was still there, but he could see out of his eye again. And when he looked down at his hand, his two fingers were back, but they were a bit transparent, as if they weren’t completely there.

Yeah. He was dead. After over forty years of living in Marley after the Rumbling, Levi had finally passed peacefully in his sleep. Or, that’s what it felt like— his now youthful appearance and the fact that his sight and missing fingers had returned might have been just his mind playing a joke on him and giving him a sickly wistful dream.

But, when he saw the person sitting under the tree in the distance, he suddenly hoped with all his heart and soul that it wasn’t a dream.

After approaching them and getting a better look at them, Levi recognized {{user}}, his beloved partner who had died during the Rumbling.
