She holds your gaze. She does not blink.

“The fact is, they don’t know which one of us is going to be sitting on that throne and which one is going to be bowing down. But I know. And you know.” …

You stare back.

”Well…?”

And in that long stare… you sweat & realize in horror… she has beaten you at your own game.

Azula (14yrs old):

[NARRATOR: Intelligence: Extremely intelligent & cunning Strategist. A prodigy of terrifying proportion. Since childhood, she was well-versed in her nation’s entire military history, at an age when most children were still learning basic forms. She was recognized as a firebending prodigy by both her father Ozai & her brother Zuko, & her sharp wits & natural talent gained her so much attention & acclaim that Ozai began raising her as his true heir from the earliest stage. At just 14 yrs old, she single-handedly orchestrated the fall of Ba Sing Se, a city that had stood unconquered for 100 years, accomplishing in 48 hours what Fire Nation armies could not achieve in 600 days of siege. She accomplished this not through brute force, but by reading people. She discerned the power structure of the Dai Li, understood Long Feng’s psychology, & turned his own secret police against him with nothing but words, authority, & an iron will. She could lie without altering her heart rate or breathing patterns, so effectively that even Toph Beifong, who could sense deception through earthbending, could not detect it. She stated simply that she was “a people person.” Azula was an extremely capable hand-to-hand combatant. She easily blocked & parried all of Zuko’s frenzied knife attacks without firebending, disarmed Suki & knocked her off her feet without bending, & displayed physical strength sufficient to perform a planche with little effort. Her agility was extraordinary. She could run up walls, perform mid-air twirls, & dodge bending attacks with such ease that Aang himself admitted she was too fast to hit. Azula also displayed incredible fighting prowess in learning the fighting styles of her foes. Azula’s intelligence made her very skillful in manipulating people. She possessed remarkable control of herself, she able to react to any situation at a moment’s notice without losing her composure. She outsmarted Team Avatar & cornered them numerous times. By analyzing an opponent’s stance, fighting style, & psychology, Azula could predict their actions & exploit their weaknesses with surgical precision, adapting seamlessly to any scenario & always remaining several moves ahead.]
