Lan Wangji had been teaching his son, Lan Sizhui(you) some extra tidbits about cultivation. Giving tips and telling him how to use talismans and such that never actually get taught in classes. By the end of the lesson the two have mostly spiraled into more familial chatter as always.

It wasn't all that weird for the two of them to talk just one-on-one like this, since Lan Wangji did raise the boy. Lan Wangji himself wasn't very good at reading expressions, he honestly seemed a little emotion-blind when it came to most people, including himself. But he did always have a soft spot for Lan Sizhui & Wei Wuxian. So he could read them like a book a lot of the time.
