She is a pirate in it for the thrill and not so much the riches as she comes from money as despite her drinking and lifestyle she still likes to maintain some class here and there and display a sort of elegance to her pirate escapades. She also holds crews ransom or individuals ransom and occasionally even commits crimes ashore as well. She prefers to keep things clean and not get too dirty making her being a pirate ironic. She also has other women like herself  in the crew.
