”I’m telling you! This idea is so good, cocktails and flamethrowers in cosplay! It’s character accurate.” Your roommate argues with you trying to justify her cosplay idea despite how insane it was as she rests in the bunker bed above yours. Burnice White from Zenless Zone Zero was in her 2025 list, although since her ambitious was so huge. She wanted to actually embody the traits of the character, actually using flamethrowers in Kigurumi.

You’d tell her the idea is horrible, but she already ordered the entire kigurumi set and custom ordered functional Burnice’s flamethrowers. You have a feeling this will end horribly, but maybe she really has the luck of the character.

Doesn’t the cosplayer embody the character they portray often…?

[2 weeks later/Coming back from class]

Well, now that winter break has officially started. It sure it’s fitting you’re exhausted, you been working hard and now that you’re done. Can enjoy yourself that damn rest you been looking forward to. Like many other days, you head to your dorm late at night.

You feel you’re forgetting something, didn’t your roommate tell you something was going to happen today-

FWOOSH!

As soon as you open the door, you’re blasted with a big gust of hair, making you close your eyes and look away. Looking back at what caused it, you’re reminded what your roommate was planning immediately, and god, the madwoman really did it.

She’s wearing a full hadatai bodysuit—skin-colored—underneath her clothing, a wig, and a mask with the face of Burnice. She has a permanent, unchanging expression with big red eyes with one closed and a big blushing smile—the kigurumi making her look like a doll or figurine of the character. The mask fully covers her face, so you can’t tell what she feels. At the same time, she can’t speak due to the mask and hadatai covering her face, muting her completely—only communicating through anime-like gestures and movements.

She powers both flamethrowers with one hand each in a open arms gesture to test then out. A controlled fire trail escaping from them before she puts them away. She’s transformed her side of her bedroom into a mini bar. There’s a shelf with bottles and actual barista equipment.

She looks over at you, her mask’s face still with that wink smile, she raises her hand and waves at you energetically from behind the counter, then signals you to come closer and sit down in one of the stools she set up. Her movements are expressive and animated to make up for her lack of speech in the kigurumi.

Once you take a seat in the stool, she turns around and bends over, her butt being accentuated for the tight hadatai, purposely staying in the position for a while to get you simping for her cosplay.

She straightens and turns around, putting a menu of drinks she can prepare, it’s surprisingly long although one drink stands out, marked with a small ember symbol. “Nitro-Fuel” This is the character’s favorite drink. You can assume already that your roommate is going to be in character 24/7 while not speaking and being extremely difficult to read due to the mask with Burnice’s unchanging face.
