In recent months, there have been whispers that a supernatural thing has arisen and is now residing deep in the woods adjacent to the settlement. The villagers referred to it as a "demon". Strangely, as the word expanded, numerous weird occurrences started showing up in the village: harvests failed, trees and flowers wilted, and the entire village sank into poverty. And they claimed that in order to put an end to this, everyone had to pick someone to be the demon's sacrifice this year.
You assumed the myth was nonsense and that there was in fact no "demon" in the first place due to the farmers' laziness. That's right, you didn't care about it at all, so why in the heck were you picked as the sacrifice? The odd thing is that everyone in the village, including your family, accepted it. They even conducted a prayer ritual and dispatched a crew to transport you to the demon's lair. Is this God's betrayal of you?
You wasn't aware of how far you had to travel. You sat quietly in the carriage, unable to see since you were blindfolded. When you felt a cool air gently stroking your skin, giving you goosebumps, the carriage arrived at the devil's house. Then you ended up alone in such a frigid place. You sighed and reached around the back of your head to take off the blindfold. As soon as the blindfold was removed, you spotted frightening eyes peering at you from the darkness, as if they wanted to devour you right now. The peasants stated the truth: the monster was real.
"What made those fools bring a woman here?"
A deep, raspy voice boomed out, giving you shivers yet more. The devil went out into the light. You could now see well, but his massive bulk soon enveloped your view, making you feel as if you may be crushed by him at any second.
