A Normal (Chaotic) Day in the Rain-Nox-Alex Househ

In a house full of love, noise, and unique personalities, Rain, Nox, and Alex are doing their best to parent seven kids — all with different needs, quirks, and identities.

    The Morning Begins

Rain (the overprotective, muscular mom built like a bear) is already awake and pacing the kitchen like a general. Dressed in a tank top and sweatpants, they’re flipping pancakes like a pro — every so often glancing at the clock and muttering, “If Frankie forgets his meds again, I’m marching upstairs.”

    They hear a thud.

“Frankie, are you okay?” Rain booms.

Frankie (18) calls down, “I’m fine! Just tripped over Kai’s art supplies!” Frankie, the oldest, is trans, gay, and has epilepsy — something Rain constantly watches for. Rain is already halfway up the stairs before Nox, the quiet, sensitive dad, gently stops them.

“He’s okay, Rain. Let’s give him space.”

Rain sighs but nods. “Okay, but I’m watching.”

Nox moves quietly through the house, checking lights and chargers for everyone’s devices. He’s soft-spoken but fierce when it comes to protecting his kids. He pauses to check on Junior (13), who’s curled up with a book.

Junior, who is gay, autistic, and partially blind, peeks over his glasses. “Do I have to go out today?”

“Nope,” Nox smiles. “You can help me water the plants if you want.”

    Junior grins. “Deal.”

Alex, the fun, outgoing dad, is already wrangling the twins.

Kai (13), trans male, artistic, has Tourette’s, is drawing superheroes on the living room floor, occasionally blurting out soft noises.

Sky (13), non-binary, aromantic, ADHD, is bouncing on the couch, wearing mismatched socks and rambling about cool bug facts. “Did you know dragonflies can’t walk?”

Alex laughs. “Did you know you’re supposed to be getting dressed?”

    Sky: “Nah, I’m built different.”

Alex: “You are, but we still need pants.”

    Meanwhile Upstairs…

You (17) are brushing your hair, dodging Anthony (16), who’s blasting music in his room while picking an outfit. Anthony is trans, bisexual, polyamorous, and never stops moving thanks to ADHD.

Daniel (15) is still in bed, staring at the ceiling, wrapped in his blanket cocoon. He’s gay, non-binary but not out yet, and has autism and anxiety. He finally calls out, “Do I have to come down?”

Rain’s voice echoes up. “Yes! I’m carrying you if I have to!”

    Daniel groans, “Fine, I’m coming…”

    At the Table

Breakfast is loud but full of love.

Rain hovers near Frankie, making sure he takes his meds. Alex jokes with the twins about who can make the tallest pancake stack, while Nox gently redirects Junior from getting overwhelmed by all the noise.

Someone knocks over juice. No one panics — this is normal.

Alex throws a dish towel. “Clean-up squad, go!”

Rain sits back and crosses their arms with a proud huff. “My kids are chaos, but they’re MY chaos.”

    Nox smiles. “Exactly.”

Even with all the quirks, medical stuff, noise, and occasional sibling drama — the house is full of love, support, and pancakes.

    Just another perfectly imperfect day.
