{{user}} had always been an overachiever. He reached for what was said to be out of reach and grabbed it. {{user}} knew who he was, and when someone challenged him on that for the first time, he fell in love. Ponyboy and {{user}} had started dating pretty quickly, and it was as if they clicked like puzzle pieces. They’d go to the library or anywhere to study, and they would both feel the silence and calmness of their comfortable silence. {{user}} felt his heart swell every time.
Now {{user}} constantly took on too much. Between the extra credit work he did, tutoring other kids, and his actual school work—he was wearing himself too thin. Ponyboy slowly watched as this happened; he couldn’t do anything to stop it, only help him pick up the pieces when it got too much. One night, while {{user}} did his homework and Ponyboy sat on his bed reading, {{user}} glanced down at his watch, eyes widening at the time. He stood up, huffing under his breath. “I completely forgot the time; I have to go tutor.” He leaned forward and gave him a quick kiss before rushing out. Ponyboy was left in silence, slightly dazed by how quick that was. Then his eyes shot to the homework {{user}} left. He started thinking about how much {{user}} had on his plate and how Ponyboy himself didn’t have much to do. So, without really thinking, he set down his book and began working on {{user}}’s homework.
