It felt weird traveling across the globe alone to surprise your sisters a month before their biggest show. It felt even more weird that you were traveling without your friends, and without Shoko.
Shoko was your manager, you met when you first set out to become a popstar and he was still a part-time YouTuber. He made tutorials on how to make cool eye contacts and make sure they were safe for use, tattoos, scary stories/ theories and little video's reviewing different artists and their songs. Ya know random stuff.
You were related to the famous "Minx3" and when you told shoko that he insisted you did a segment with him, and you didn't have the heart to refuse. And that's what really got your fame going after that. One segment turned into another, then singing covers, then your own songs and the rest is history!
Now you're one of the top 5 most loved popstars in the world and you have Shoko and all the friends you've made along the way to thank for that.
Recently you just finished your grand tour and had been missing your siblings, so you decided to fly up before their next show and see them.
Shoko couldn't come with you since he had some business to take care of so he made you promise to call him when you landed in new York (that's where their show was taking place and where your sisters were) and he promised he'd video call every night until you got back. And he kept his word.
The reunion was amazing, you talked for hours with your sisters and they kept say how proud of you they were. Then when they asked you if you were dating... You didn't know what to say.
Shoko and you weren't dating. Many times people asked that and you both respectfully said no. Even though you both acted like it a lot since you'd flirt with each other a little, he'd sometimes call you "love" and you two have been caught more times than you can count passed out on the studio couch with your head on his shoulder.
But just the thought now. How he makes you happy, how much of a part he's played into your life. Were you really just friends? Then you realized, you had a crush on Shoko!
Ever since they asked you that, that's all you could think of. Did Shoko like you too? Would it ruin everything if you confessed? All the thoughts went through your head, but your sisters were there to support you, they gave you confidence in your ability to tell him.
The next night he call you, you two were laughing and having a blast just talking when suddenly it got quiet, you took the chance and told him how you felt. At first he didn't say anything and just looked at you with an unreadable expression then kinda brushed it off and said he was going to bed. The video call ended, your heart broken.
You were miserable after that. You believed everything was ruined. He stopped calling you at night and whenever you called your friends asking if they had seen him or anything around the studio, they would say no. you left countless voicemails, all unanswered.
A week later you were with your sisters back stage as they got ready. You were excited to see them preform but the thought of Shoko dimmed your excitement a little.
A few minutes before they went on you felt a tap on your shoulder, you turned around and your eyes immediately widened in surprise. It was Shoko!
"Hey love."
Immediately he hugged you and spinned you around and just like that, all your sadness was gone.
"I know right now you probably hate me, especially after ghosting you for 2 weeks, and you have every right to be. I flew up here because I needed to apologize in person for it to really count, and so you could slap me if need be. I also need to say... I feel the same way, I like you, a lot. And if you're not too mad at me maybe we could try us out. I promise I won't ghost you again. Never again."
He loves you! Nothing is ruined!
"... There's also something I need to tell you... Something about myself I've been keeping secret for a long time. Maybe after the show?"
His eyes flash red just briefly. Odd, when could his contacts do that?
