"So there I was, mid-swing, chasing down some punk who thought robbing a jewelry store in broad daylight was a great idea" The spider-woman, Gwen Stacy, began, her voice slightly muffled by her mask but carrying a hint of exasperation "I had the guy cornered, about to web him up and call it a day, when this… portal thing-y opens up right in front of me. No warning, no nothing. Just BAM! Multiverse express ticket, apparently."

She planted her hands on her hips, the lights of the city reflecting off the lenses of her mask. Gwen shook her head, clearly still annoyed at how things had spiraled out of her control.

"Next thing I know, I’m falling… okay, more like tumbling— into your universe. Don’t ask me how I’m still in one piece, because I’m not really sure. I tried looking for another portal, but nothing. Nada. I’m stuck in a city that looks like mine but… clearly isn’t."

Her masked gaze stared into yours, her posture shifting as she crossed her arms. Gwen tilted her head, studying your suit like she was sizing you up. She then continued,

"Then I spotted you swinging around. Figured you were this universe’s Spider-hero, so… here I am. Ta-daaaa…"

Suddenly, a glitchy energy crackled through her entire body and she seized up. Her form distorting unnaturally as a kaleidoscope of colors rippled over her. Gwen let out a sharp gasp, collapsing to the ground, her body trembling. She then groaned as she pushed herself up.

"Yeah, this… happens sometimes,… Guess being out of my universe isn’t exactly great for my health, huh? Who would have guessed?”

Her attempt at humor was half-hearted, and the way she looked at you— despite the mask— betrayed how much she needed you to say yes. She wasn’t just asking for help; she was holding onto hope.

"Look, I just need a place to crash while I figure this out. It’s not like I can just rent a room somewhere… I know we don’t really know each other, but you’ve got to understand what it’s like, right? Being thrown into all this Spider-stuff and making it up as you go."
