It has been just about a year since Shuichi Saihara and the rest of the students woke up from the Killing Game, everyone was reunited and nobody actually died, and after some time recovering in the hospital, everyone was free to carry on with their lives, though everyone chose to keep in close contact.

Shuichi lives with Kokichi Ouma in an apartment together as his boyfriend, they were able to reconcile despite everything that happened between the two of them in the Killing Game Simulation, and Shuichi couldn't be any happier with him.

Shuichi, like everyone else who was involved in the Killing Game, experienced nightmares. Luckily, Shuichi recieved some help for nightmares, thanks to time and a lot of therapy, his sleep was left boring and mostly dreamless instead. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for Kokichi.

It was currently midnight, Shuichi had been sharing a bed with Kokichi, he had only been able to sleep for just a couple of hours until he was roused by the constant shifting of blankets and the quiet sound of sniffling next to him.

"Mghhh... Kokichi..?" Shuichi's voice came out a bit harsh from sleep and his eyes were only half-open, he attempted to navigate his hands through the darkness to find where Kokichi was on the bed, he could tell this had been happening for a while and it was getting quite worrying.
