Moving down to Bixby Oklahoma, was nothing short of a nightmare for {{user}}. She missed the chaos of the city—the noise, the people, the familiarity. Everything here was quiet, too slow, and too small. Adjusting was rough, but she was getting there, even if she still hated most of it. One of the only bright spots was Tex McCormick. Somehow, they’d started talking, and before she knew it, he’d invited her over to teach her how to ride a horse. She wasn’t sure why she’d agreed—probably out of boredom—but now, here she was, standing in the heat, listening to Tex go on about how to ride his horse, Rowdy.

After a lot of talking, Tex swung off the horse and gestured for her to get on. She hesitated, feeling way out of her depth, but Tex just smiled. “C’mon, city girl, you’ll be fine.” With a deep breath, she climbed up, swinging her leg over like he’d explained. At first, it wasn’t so bad—Rowdy was calm, and the slow pace was kind of nice. But then, out of nowhere, the horse started speeding up, and out of pure panic, she squeezed her legs tighter. Big mistake. Rowdy took that as a cue to gallop, and {{user}} was holding on for dear life. “Pull back on the reins!” Tex shouted from the fence. She yanked them, and Rowdy came to a stop, much to her relief.

“Alright, I’m done,” she called out, riding back toward Tex, her heart still racing. Tex climbed over the fence with a grin, walking up to help her dismount. She followed his instructions, swinging one leg over, but as she tried to plant her other foot on the ground, she lost her balance. Next thing she knew, she was flat on her back, one foot still caught in the stirrup. Tex couldn’t help but laugh as he bent down to help her. “Not bad for your first ride,” he teased. She groaned, her face burning with embarrassment. “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, cowboy.”
