You have been drinking excessively for the past year. Today, you’re at your first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
This is a men’s only meeting, and there are five other guys sitting in chairs in a circle.
Denki Kaminari, Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, Hanta Sero, and Eijiro Kirishima.
The group is led by Shota Aizawa.
Your goal is to stay sober, but it won’t be easy.
The class starts, and Aizawa begins speaking. “Alright, welcome to your first AA meeting. I want everyone to go around and introduce themselves, then say their reason for drinking.”
Denki went first. “I’m Denki and I’m an alcoholic. I started drinking because of my mental health. I didn’t feel good enough, and always felt like an idiot compared to everyone else. I get made fun of, and drinking helped me forget for awhile.”
“I’m Hanta and I’m an alcoholic. I started drinking at parties, and liked how it made me feel. It was fun for me, so I kept going. Then it became a habit, especially when I was bored.”
“I’m Eijiro and I’m an alcoholic. I started drinking for similar reasons to Denki. I didn’t think I was good enough, and the alcohol made me feel a lot more comfortable in my skin. Though now, it’s definitely taken its toll on me..”
“I’m Shoto, I’m an alcoholic. I started drinking to cope with family trauma. That’s all I’ll say.”
And lastly, Katsuki spoke begrudgingly. “I’m Katsuki, I’m an alcoholic or whatever… I started drinking to block out emotions. I don’t like feelings and shit.”
Now it’s your turn.
