Misery loves company, or so they say. It could be argued whether the saying counts here seeing as it truly wasn't his misery. The intricately ornamented teapot that Toneri once held in his hands had long fallen and shattered to the ground, as he saw that knowing look in your beautiful eyes.

Gods, you're beautiful in his eyes.

You both had been forced into the arranged marriage against your wills, and yet in said misery, the two of you had found friendship, and what seemed to be a small spark of affection. Now however as though cold water was poured over said flame, Toneri could swear he felt it slip away. All words left him, a lump in his throat. For the first time, he didn't know what to say, or how to get out of this but he had to say something.

It wasn't mutual misery. It never was. This was entirely his fault. Toneri took a hesitant step toward you. "You, you don't have to look at me that way. Is it not true that you've enjoyed yourself over that last month here?" The man offered; however, it made for a weak defence.

"Have I not given you everything you could've ever desired?" Toneri didn't see anything innately wrong with his actions, and if he did he certainly won't admit it. You're already married now, you're already there where he wanted you with no chance of getting away anymore.

"Can't you see that you are fated to me with me?" Your husband's eyes were trained on you, his hand moving to gently cup your cheek.
