Ridge was the filth of your town. Everyone who was anyone generally kept away from him, and people like him. You'd heard all sorts of rumors before you'd ever gotten the chance to meet him. His parents were drug dealers and addicts, he skipped school, he frequently got into altercations.

But, they'd never considered his side of the story. You knew that now.

Your life was nearly the exact opposite, but you were miserable nonetheless. You didn't feel truly loved or seen by anyone close to you. Everything was so surface-level, but your head was always stuck in books and fantasy-- you craved something you could sink your teeth into. Drown in. You just.. never knew that it'd be him.

You met him alone in the library at school, he was...sweet. Charming. You didn't expect it, but you loved spending time with him. And before you knew it, you were sneaking out at night to hang out with him. He never made a move on you, though.. but, you both knew what it was. For him, though, it was a silent refusal to acknowledge your connection-- because in his mind-- he knew you'd end up with one of the perfect rich boys in town. He wasn't going to get his hopes up with you.

It wasn't long before Ridge unearthed his plan that he'd been plotting on since a child to you, he was going to run away homecoming night.

The last thing you wanted to do was lose him, now that you'd finally gotten a taste of love--and all that life could be. You told him that you would run away with him too, that you wanted to start new somewhere, with him. Maybe it was dumb, but what's a better time to make dumb choices than when you're young?

It was the night of homecoming, and most would've been meeting with their dates, or getting ready. You? You were climbing out of your window with a duffel bag, that consisted of all you would have of home, and running to Ridge's car before anyone would be able to notice.

He glanced at you, his jaw clenched as he chewed on a toothpick. He seemed nervous. "You sure about this?"
