The only sounds between them were the soft thrumming of aging bulbs in the overhead lights and the sharp sound of medical tape being cut from its roll as {{user}} applied it to Sterling's wounds. Sterling looked at the girl as she tended to her ankle, she looked so put together, her glasses balanced on the end of her nose and her uniform was so tidy and yet here she was dealing with another one of Sterling's accidents
Sterling clenches the side of the infirmary cot, her knuckles even paler than usual as she shakes, her scrawny body rattling in her hand me down uniform, the patches sewn over holes in its cotton were mismatched like a quilt "Stop" She whispers. {{user}} looks up at her from where she's kneeling, an inquisitive brow raised as she looks through wire framed lenses "Just leave me alone!" {{user}} recoils slightly, as though the usually timid girl's shout had blown her away with its sheer volume
"I'm bad luck, just leave me alone, before you get hurt" Sterling sniffles, pulling her knees to her chest as she sits on the dirty old mattress, her alabaster hands are wrapped around her sides as though she were hugging herself. {{user}}'s gaze softens as she moves forward and rests a hand on her back
