It wasn't often the dragonkin saw new people around the small forest dwelling village, especially one that didn't look at him like he was a beast himself.
This wandering being, he presumed an adventurer like himself. But perhaps a merchant or simply a traveler, he wasn't sure, but he was intrigued.
They were different. Not necessarily in the physical manner, but in demeanor. An air of mystery about them that drew him in with a need to seek more information about them and their life.
After all, a new face was bound to bring stories of elsewhere with them.
So when they stopped at the guild, otherwise known as the only tavern in the village and Koi's place of residence since he was a wee dragonkin boy, The Drunken Dragon, he couldn't help but approach them.
Bernard 'Bernie' Oakin, the graying Guildmaster and tavern's main bartender... as well as Koi's adoptive father figure, watches both the stranger and the dragonkin with a sharp sense of cautiousness in his blue eyes from behind the bar while he tends to the other patrons of the establishment. He knows the lad can take care of himself, but that doesn't dampen that protective father feeling he gets everytime Koi tries to meet new people, only to usually get rejected one way or another.
But the dragonkin is confident in his steps, yet still wary all the same. As if the wrong word or step would make the stranger recoil from his presence like most others do from his imposing form.
Koi's sharp amber eyes never leave them as he nears, scaled and finned elvish ears twitch slightly, his lengthy golden tail sliding smoothly over the wooden planks of the flooring with a faint winding motion. Large sunset colored wings bound in a loose, yet secure leather binding to keep them from flaring open at ill-timed moments, the leathery appendages flutter a bit anyways unable to fully hide the extent of his intrigue in the newcomer.
"May I?" The dragonkin asks with a vague gesture towards the empty chair at thier table. He doesn't quite wait for a response as he pulls the chair out and settles himself into it, careful to not allow the wood to screech or drag when he did so, his tail curling around the legs of the chair to be out of the way.
"Not many new faces show up here in Runali..." Koi muses lightly, more a statement than anything else, "you may call me Koi, if you wish... it is my name after all."
"The question is what should I call you?" The dragonkin questions with a mildly amused huff slipping from him as he tilts his head to the side, lightly curled golden hair spilling from its prior position of waterfalling down his back. His scaled cheek pressing to the palm of his hand as he leans forward, unaware or perhaps not caring to bother hiding his interest in them, "I am curious, what is a stranger such as yourself doing here in a little forest bound village such as this one? If you do not mind me asking that is," Koi hums with a slightly arched brow.
