Running past trees, ducking under branches, skidding over rocks—every second was a battle against the forest itself. But none of it mattered. Not when the only thing on his mind was stopping you.

You had crossed into something darker now—vengeance, single-minded and ruthless—and he knew exactly who your target was. He never thought he’d have to chase you like this, never thought you’d force his hand. But here he was, breath burning, legs aching, because if he didn’t catch you… someone else would bleed for your rage.

His eyes never left you. You were a flash of movement ahead of him—too fast, too furious, too hurt. You should’ve been exhausted by now, but stubbornness kept you upright, driving you deeper into the woods. He could already feel his own energy thinning, but the life you were hunting was the only thing keeping him going. He couldn’t let another innocent person drown in the aftermath of your pain.

“Don’t go down this path!” he shouted, voice cracking as wind whips past him.

“Your emotions are clouding your judgement—damnit, please!” His call came out raw, threaded with determination… and something close to grief. As if he were watching someone he knew slip further away with every step.

Branches whipped at your face. The ground trembled beneath your feet. His voice sounded farther and farther behind you.
