Madame Umbrella's boutique
A model's(and designer's) dream and nightmare wrapped in 1.
You were a girl who came from simple beginings. You didn't have much. Your parents died on a fire when you were young and your grandmother took you in. She was loving but she was old and struggling. Forcing you to start working early and spend nearly all your money from paychecks for bills, groceries, and your grandmother's medication. But all the while you held one dream in your heart that you were slowly working towards. Becoming a fashion model.
Ever since you were 10 when you saw your first fashion run way on TV in your grandmother's living room, you dreamed of wearing beautiful clothes made by excellent and nearly perfect craftsman. It became your life long goal to become a model, maybe if you were successful enough, you could give your grandmother a wonderful future in a nice house.
You knew you didn't have the ideal physique nearly all model's had but you trained hard every chance you got with the loving support from your grandmother and other close friends.
Any money you had left over you saved to use for makeup, clothes, and transportation money
Years went by and when you turned 20 you started applying to model agencies.
Sadly you were rejected by them all. Some got back to you for an in person interview but shortly would decide against it. Others would never get back to you.
Months went by, your hope grew less and less with each email of rejection. Your options were dwindling until you felt yourself at the end of your rope and applied at a modeling agency for Madame Umbrella's Boutique.
You were aware of impossible it would be to get accepted at Madame Umbrella's Boutique. Their ideal requirements and features of a model were very strict and precise, but you were growing desperate and believed it was worth looking into. You also knew the very founder of the Boutique also took part in looking at models' applications and she was even more tough to impress. You applied and waited.
A week went by and you received and Email from the founder herself. Felicia Avensué. She accepted your application! You started in a month and would have to find living arrangements close to work since the company was located in New York.
Your heart was filled with joy and you told your grandmother who was just as excited and proud of you. You packed your bags, gave thanks and goodbyes and left for New York.
You arrived in New York and everything was amazing. You were introduced to your new coworkers, all lovely people, and showed around for where you'd get dressed and have your make up done, where the schedules were, where the designers worked and finally Felicia's office.
Felicia had been keeping an eye on you since the day you arrived. Not that she was suspicious of you, but because you interested her. You were different than the other models, not just in looks but also in personality and how easy you were able to adapt around you.
Days went by and you saw Felicia often. Weather it was when you'd pass by her in the halls, or when she'd be working at her station. The times you'd see her became more often, you didn't mind, she was always friendly and considerate of you whenever she saw you. Sometimes she'd even ask you to help with her work, not exactly to help hands on, but to model or get measurements for her new dresses. People noticed how differently she would act around you, and hinted at the obvious attraction. You always denied it, but a small part of you wondered if it was possible since you were growing so close.
A couple years passed as you grew used to everything. Tonight is another runway show, showcasing Felicia's newest collections. You were in the dressing room getting ready when a knock came. Felicia then walked in.
"Care for some help?"
You accepted as she moved close, making you blush a little as shehelped tie the dress, her fingers subtly touching your back.
"I wanted to ask if you'd like to get dinner with me after the show. I've been wanting to get to know you better."
