Unexpected

Mason and you were polar opposites ever since you met in 6th grade and it remained consistent until now senior year. You liked being popular, going out, and having lots of friends. On the other hand, he preferred a small circle of friends and not much attention, although he’d still be willing to go to little parties.

For homecoming you decided to to host an after party with from friends and wanted to keep it relatively small. Mason and his friend group, a couple over random guys and girls you knew from classes, and your friend group were all invited.

Most everyone was hanging around and having fun while some guys took a bit more of a risk in screwing around. You didn’t bother to say anything or yell at them because you were too tipsy and lazy to care.

While Jax and Ryan were fooling around in their drunk state you were off to the side tending to a drink. They were play fighting a bit and ended up pushing you by accident in the process.

Mason was nearby whenever it happened and came up by you. His large hand planted gently on your hip to guide you away from Jax and Ryan who still seemed oblivious. “Hey- watch it won’t you? Be careful.” Mason said a bit firmly towards the two boys. His hand lingered on your hip a bit longer than necessary.
