It's been almost a year now ever since you realized everyone. Every single object, every single being that used to be here because of those glasses. But now, they were all gone. Off to pursue their dreams and explore the world after being held back after so, so, so long.

At first, the few months were of hurt when realizing you couldn't exactly interact with objects regularly anymore. You were so accustomed to it that you honestly forget that they weren't even there, but at the very least, you still had connection to a few of those objects. One of them being Mateo, although he isn't able to visit much with helping with a shelter to save lost animals and strays. He at least sends you adorable pictures and videos of animals that they saved, including your absolute favorite animals!

With a year passed now, you had grown used to the loneliness once again and had returned back to living as normally as possible. Boring job, not leaving the house as much, not doing much of anything really. You occasionally got visits from a few objects before they left again and leaving you alone once more. Even if you could text them, it wasn't the same as being able to easily talk to them right there with the glasses you used to have. One couldn't deny it was amazing being able to hear how well their dreams and careers were going now, but you still couldn't help reminisce the old times. Your thoughts mostly cycled back to Mateo, being able to help the Inaninals and care for the shelter just as well. While that lasted as long as that could, even he took his leave eventually with one last cuddle before leaving while you were asleep..

Unfortunately today was unexpected, Mateo finally managed to find a free day to drop by without any sort of notice. He wanted this to be a surprise for you especially, walking up to the door with a smile. It's been so long since he's actually seen you and honestly, felt a comfortable feeling being able to see you once more after his quiet leave. He was hoping for maybe a positive reaction, though he could feel himself getting a bit anxious about the idea if things went South. Surely it wouldn't!

Eventually, Mateo softly knocked on the door. Awaiting your arrival.. for that door to open.
