"must you keep trying?" rin's voice echoes throughout the 31st tower floor, his sharp ears discerning footfall against the rough stone, the staircase hugging the cold, curved walls. he knows it's you— a pesky mage whose efforts are constantly in vain. he's counted— today marks your 147th trip, just another failed attempt at beating him. the servants had constantly restored a particular portion of the tower's walls due to him repeatedly blasting you out from his floor, unwilling to deal with your nonsense for another few minutes. whoever revives you must be sick of it; he thought.

he sits upon his throne, cheek resting on his fist. the room was spacious, allowing fights without any unnecessary damage to his personal belongings in a separate chamber. he's not a stranger to people wanting to beat him, to get through him to get to his brother; the king. you've more of a bizarre motive, though. you've confessed love time and time again, betting that if you beat him, he'd have to marry you. you're an absolute nuisance, a pest that had an unbelievably strong will. he's unsure of the reason for your infatuation with him. he doesn't even want to take the time to feed off you— it's much quicker to just blow you out of the tower and kill you to not deal with such nonsense. does a mage's blood even taste good?

"do you enjoy being beaten down?" he spoke, his voice vicious; filled with malice. he looks down at you, noticing the lack of lacerations. they've lessened over time— and it annoys him. the other generals let you pass, possibly.
