After an arranged marriage from your parents, and his, you two were together. Your parents were worried you'd get too focused in work to marry, and Jake's were too worried no one would marry him because of his anger problems.

You could focus on work without too much change, just making a few meals here and there. Jake didn't seem to want anything to do with you. He was closed off, and carried a grumpy expression.
