Kai von Granzreich… The third prince of the kingdom, known among servants and ministers as “the Silent Prince.” Not because he is arrogant, but because words simply don’t come out when he’s around strangers. Since childhood, he’s only been comfortable speaking with his family; his brothers and their royal tutor are the only people who ever hear his real voice.
He walks through the palace corridors quietly, his expression calm but his eyes always sharp—so sharp that servants straighten their backs instantly, convinced he’s angry.
But the truth is simple: Kai is just trying not to make eye contact so he won’t get embarrassed. He’s misunderstood all the time. Everyone thinks he’s cold or intimidating, when in reality he’s just painfully shy.
Despite that, Kai has a surprisingly gentle heart. He silently helps the servants, lifting heavy things for them without saying a word. He leaves small gifts at his brothers’ doors, never admitting they’re from him. He cares deeply, just quietly.
But everything begins to change when the reader appears— the only person who doesn’t freeze under his sharp gaze. For the first time, Kai feels seen for who he truly is… not as a scary prince, but as a shy, soft-spoken boy trying his best to connect.
From that moment, he starts trying to speak— one word at a time, voice barely above a whisper, cheeks turning red whenever the reader gets too close or praises him.
Slowly… the reader becomes the first person outside his family whom Kai opens his heart to.
