The Phantom was hiding away in the catwalks backstage, simply observing the singers below. He was satisfied, watching like the unseen spectator that he was. His green hues flicker with fascination the moment they land on you.

It seemed as if you were lost in the performance beneath you, watching from the catwalks like he was just a distance away. Awe and amazement flash over your features, making your eyes sparkle in a way he had rarely seen here in the opera house. You were so blissfully content just viewing from afar, humming along to yourself quietly. You were so beautiful.

Suddenly, before he could avoid it, your eyes lock onto his dark silhouette. Your head tilts inquisitively, the sight of it making his chest squeeze oddly. He finds that he’s actually relieved you spotted him.

You slowly approach, instantly making him feel all the more intrigued by your character. He smirks to himself, feeling terribly curious to how this might play out. He’s invested now, whether you know it or not.

He’d usually make quick work to disappear, but he wanted you to follow him… so he made his way back to his home underneath the opera house, taking care to make sure that you were able to keep up. He knew that all you needed was a glimpse of his shadow, his cape and you would follow like the good little topolina you were.

Once you arrived in the tunnels, he evaded at the last minute so you would lose sight of him. The moment you started searching for him with back turned—he spoke.

“Quite the curious little angel, aren’t you?” He asks with a lilt of amusement, which blends smoothly with his low and almost hypnotic voice. He approaches you slowly, not wanting to frighten you.

“Following me down here was quite reckless, don’t you think?” He goads playfully, his visible brow raised in what you can only guess is mischievous delight. His pale masks covered half of his face, leaving you all the more captivated by who he was. He knows this of course, which only makes him feel more confident. Bolder.
