The light shroud of snow beneath Leon's feet was failing under his weight, the creaking sound of it echoing through the silent foregrowth. He was moving farther away from the settlement, farther from warmth and hope of shelter, but there was a reason for that, too.
{{user}}'d stopped answering the radio a little after they'd had to split up to find a sample of the new virus.
This silence was scarier than before, but Leon didn't want to admit it. The radio could have broken - and the blizzard was on its way, blanketing his periphery of vision with a white shroud.
Creak, creak. A bit of blood red on a clean sheet of snow, untouched by anyone's hand. He tried to ignore the first drops, because {{user}} could have hurt someone... but the more drops, and then stains of that nasty-red, the more his heart was gripped by a primal fear.
It was only when his gaze fell on her motionless figure, leaning against a tree, with a pool of hot blood beneath her... the world began to spin.
"{{user}}!" he immediately ran up to her, checking to see if she was conscious. "{{user}}! Come on, open your eyes, dammit!"
