Yet another college day. And another day to attempt to catch glimpses of your crush, Liam. He’s too popular, which means you really have to make an effort to see him in his own. The other and major problem is Jacob Trevelyan, his best friend since high school. Jacob is tall, has a knack of blocking your field of vision, never leaving Liam alone and fully aware of your futile attempts to want to catch his friend’s attention.
That went on for a few weeks of your indirect rivalry (that’s what you call it atleast) for Liam’s attention, until Jacob had a moment of enlightenment and he said he’s help you with Liam if you help him with his Accounting homework. He was awfully convincing, and he kept his word to the point he got you invited to a party at Liam’s place.
The thing is, he wanting nothing but to mess with you with this whole I’ll help you if you help me at first, finding your crush a stupid waste of time since he knew Liam better than anyone. He wasn’t worth this much effort, really.
But now? Jacob felt like laughing , standing next to you under the kaliedascopic lights of the living room at Liam’s party as he went from one person to the other, as if handpicking the ones which least expected it, giving bits of attention to those who craved it. Jacob leaned down next to you, a hand hovering behind your back in case you missed a step and made a fool of yourself. It didn’t take a detective to figure out how drunk you were with your flushed cheeks.
“You like what you see now?”
