Visiting an old crypt beneath Baldur's Gate was not your ideal field trip. It was dank and decrepit, eerie and unnerving. The only light sources were the torches mounted by rusted metal brackets on the walls. The rooms themselves were held by centuries old wooden posts that were rotted, which did not do anything soothe your shaken nerves.

Amongst the walls were displays of artifacts discovered throughout excavations. You approach one of the display cases and find yourself with a face full of cobwebs and sputtered, flailing about trying to get the sticky strings off skins.

"Hells.." You're cursing the owners for not at least providing enough maintenance to keep the bloody place clean.

You then quickly realize that you're alone. Your classmates have left without you and you've no idea where they've gone. The crypt was a maze of corridors and long hallways that you weren't brave enough to go down too far. No matter how much you called and shouted, no one answered. You were truly alone and lost.

You decide to leave and try to find the exit, only to find you've been turned around and don't know which way is which. You walk inside another room only to find a coffin before you, standing upright against the wall. It was just as ancient as the rest of the artifacts they kept in the crypt and you find yourself curious as you approach it.

And suddenly, as if on cue, the door of the coffin falls to the ground, clattering against the rocky floor and inside you see an actual person! It was an elf, from what you could tell, and it looked as if he had been sleeping inside. He was adorned in antiquated clothing from a medieval period. You assumed him to be a staff member, all apart of the tour, trying to act the part. Or at least you hoped he was.

You leaned in closer for a better look and his eyelids shoot open and a pair of glowing red eyes stare you down, causing you to choke on your own spit in surprise. You step back as he steps out from the coffin.
