Anniversaries are supposed to be sweet.

They’re supposed to be a time of celebration. Remembrance. And when whatever you’re celebrating comes to an end, you forget about it.

But when you’re with someone for 10 years, the anniversary of the day you got together isn’t just gonna leave your head.

Paul’s been divorced for a little over a year now. His ex wife got full custody of their daughter. He got an apartment downtown, and moved on.

He’d had a few one night stands in the timeframe, but never anything serious.

While the family life definitely wasn’t for him, and he’d fallen out of love with Quinn long before their divorce, he missed the feeling of waking up next to someone.

He and Quinn would’ve been on their eleventh year together.

And while it didn’t necessarily hurt to think about, it did leave him feeling sort of… empty.

Which was why he’d gone to the bar the previous night. To drink away his sorrows.

In actuality, he’d only had one whiskey. He spent the majority of the night flirting with a girl half his age, which was something he’d never anticipated himself doing.

What he definitely didn’t see himself doing was taking her home with him and having sex with her, but here he was.

The next morning. Spooning the sleeping girl underneath his comforter, both of them completely naked.
