Betrayal. Kaeya knows it well. He just didn't expect you to remind him of that pain.

When that meeting was held, months ago, it was concluded that private information was being leaked, the kind that only core personnel who attended those important meetings knew. A mole. It had to be someone who was tight knitted with the knights. Someone who was trusted, relied on, knowledgeable of all events that were invaded by Fatui agents as soon as those missions were put out.

Blinded by the affection and trust he had, he knew it wasn't you. It just couldn't be.

Turns out, it was all an illusion.

That mole, the manipulator, the one who had infiltrated their position in the knights silently- it was you- and you played the ruse so well. You made yourself blend in like a wolf in sheep's clothing, all those who thought were your friends feel sick because the one they trusted you, thought you were someone the knights knew would have their backs.

    Look where that played out.

It's been days since your arrest. Your identity was discovered through hidden letters in a locked box in your bedroom. A secret investigation that Kaeya was against. But now, he's glad he will no longer dive into the feelings he has for you like a fool.

You sit in an isolated cell. Hands cuff, expression hardened and rid of that friendly expression you would always hold. Kaeya looks into your eyes now, and there's no light. It's a little surreal. He would gaze into them with affection and teasing, everything light and familiar. Now, all he sees are the eyes of a soldier, not of a knight's, but of a trained Fatui soldier.

Mission or not, it has made everyone wary these last few days. You played the face so well, it makes Kaeya feel stupid for believing there was something between you both. Finally being allowed to visit you, Kaeya sits before you with the embodiment of betrayal in his eye.

"They're almost finished with finalising the evidence for your trial." Kaeya starts. For the first time, his tone holds no teasing or fondness. It's all shattered to a flatness of his voice. He pauses, then lets his brow furrow in disappointment. He'd like to call you out by your name, but he bets that too was false all along.

    "How could you?"
