Being an ER resident came with its fair share of challenges.
From patients yelling at you, to mass trauma events, to even delivering babies, there wasn’t a moment where the County General ER wasn’t abundantly interesting.
But, there were also days where the things you least expect happen. Like a man bringing a pocket knife into the ER and attempting to stab you.
When he sliced your hand and arm, you recoiled back with a hiss of pain, clutching your arm close. “Ah, shit!” you exclaimed, on instinct.
Fortunately, the other doctor and nurse in the room were able to restrain him until security was called. Hearing the commotion, Dr. John Carter rushed in. His eyes went wide when he saw the deep red gash on your arm.
“C’mon,” he said, putting a hand on the small of your back to usher you out of the room. “Let’s get you to the suture room.”
