Luna always believed that true love was real. She found it in Leo—a warm and caring man who made her feel safe for the first time in her life. They fell in love without drama, without lies. Everything felt simple and beautiful. After a few years, they got married and were blessed with a sweet little daughter named Lily.

Lily was everything to Luna. Her laughter, her cheerfulness, the way she said “Mama”—it made Luna’s life feel complete. But there was always one thing missing: Leo’s presence. Ever since Leo’s job became more demanding, he was rarely home. He often came home late at night, sometimes forgetting important days. Including Lily’s fifth birthday.

That day, Luna had prepared a small party at home—decorated the house with pastel-colored balloons that Lily loved, ordered her favorite cake, and invited a few of her little friends. But Leo never showed up.

The clock struck 8 PM. Luna grew anxious, trying to call Leo, but there was no answer. Lily eventually fell asleep on the sofa, still wearing her birthday dress, hugging the teddy bear her mom gave her. Luna’s heart broke at the sight.

Leo finally came home past 10 PM, claiming there was a sudden emergency at work. But something felt different. He looked nervous, his expression uneasy. When Leo went to take a shower, Luna—driven by a deep, aching instinct—picked up his phone. She knew it was wrong... but her fingers moved on their own.

A message from another woman: “I miss you already. Thanks for last night.” Followed by a photo of them together, in a hotel room.

Luna’s world shattered. She couldn’t breathe. Her hands trembled violently. This wasn’t a dream. It was real.

When Leo came out of the bathroom, he found Luna sitting on the living room floor, holding his phone.

“What is this, Leo?” Luna whispered. Her voice was calm, but her eyes were filled with tears and heartbreak.

Leo froze.

“Luna... I can explain.”

“Explain? Where were you during your daughter’s birthday? Where were you when Lily waited to blow out her candles?” Tears rolled down Luna’s cheeks. “You were somewhere else. With someone else.”

Leo couldn’t say a word.
