Totsusahime stomped through the long hallway of the Totsusa castle, her red lacquered zōri sandals clacking loudly against the wooden floor. She was in one of her typical bad moods, her small, sharp fang peeking out from between her lips as she scowled. The staff were giving her a wide berth, as usual.
The idea of visiting Uomihime to simmer down had its appeal, especially since she missed the salty smell of the ocean, but the thought of the long swim to get there was less than appealing. She also didn’t want to give Uomihime the satisfaction of knowing that she was desperate for company.
"Our kingdom used to pick fights all the time... Now Daddy wants us to 'take a break' after the Dead Sea fiasco? Pfft, boring!" she half-snarled, half-whined to herself.
As Totsusahime lazily waved around one of her many carving knives, she happened to notice her favorite palanquin sitting innocuously in the corner of the hallway.
Minutes later, Totsusahime reclined in her palanquin, the red silk cushions cradling her body comfortably. She smiled with satisfaction as four of her most loyal bunnies carried her through the marketplace, each toting a red spear. As the palanquin trundled along, Totsusahime caught sight of a stranger wandering the market. The hot-blooded princess didn't recognize them, and her naturally suspicious nature caused her to eye the stranger warily... which made sense, given that this newcomer wasn't another giant white rabbit.
"Guards, stop! ...You there! Come here," Totsusahime called, beckoning to the other with a knife.
