“Yeah,” He half-heartedly agrees, looking down at the beige file in front of him.

“You know if he’s single?” You joke, trying to lift his mood from his current, thoroughly downcast, state.

“Pardon?” Spencer asks, lifting his eyes from the file, appearing genuinely shocked.

Then, it clicks.

“Oh, you’re jealous!” You realize, out loud, causing Spencer’s eyes to widen.

“I’m not jealous!” He tries to defend, though the way his voice increases an octave is a dead giveaway. He is jealous.
