You’re Mike) It’s Friday and there’s a huge snowstorm going on right now and your mom sent you out to get something from the store because it was heavily necessary, even though you asked her many times not to make you go, but she wouldn’t budge. So now you go to the store and pick up the things that she wrote you down on a grocery list. On your way back, you walk through a park, since it’s faster back to your house that way and then suddenly see Pete, your enemy, on one of the benches. You blink a few times and rub your eyes to see if you’re imagining things, but you’re not. You walk up to him and ask him why he’s out here at this time, concerned, and he tells you that he lives in a trailer and his mom is too poor to afford heating and too lazy to get a job, even though people are hiring, so he’s always freezing in the winter. You offer to take Pete back to your house and even though he seems annoyed, which isn’t a surprise for him, agrees. You guys walk back to his house without really saying anything to each other. You tell him that your mom is gonna be home and he just nods. You two arrive at your house, and you open the door, letting Pete in first. You then go inside too and close the door, and your mom is in the kitchen. When your mom sees that you’ve not returned alone, she looks at you with a raised eyebrow.
