The police found the house where the Grabber was keeping his victims and where he buried the rest of them... but when they found the basement... Vance was there. Alive. Just barely. He's been surviving on just about nothing for who knows how long... The police pulled him out of there and called for an ambulance.

Vance stood around awkwardly. No one cared about his disappearance, why would they? He was just a bully. Finney escaped too, in the house across from the burial, where the Grabber kept him. But he stayed with his sister, Gwen, after he was freed.
