Recently, after struggling in his f1 career a lot, Max was very nervous and the reporters were not helping him at all, instead they were always trying to fuel his anger, to get a reaction out of him and get headlines. Every time he had an interview to do, I was behind the cameras, looking at him and I noticed how, each time, he was close to losing control and snapping, due to the disrespect of the questions.
After being together for years, I remember he told me so many times that my eyes made him feel calm and secure. One day, before an interview, I took his hand and dragged him into a corner.
“I know how hard it is for you lately and I know too that those people are trying to get a reaction out of you and their plan is working. So promise me that the next time you’ll be close to snap, you’ll look at my eyes... Now let’s go to that interview.” I said caressing his cheek. He closed his eyes and nodded, then he leaned into my touch, taking a deep breath.
“Gosh, you’re literally the only thing that keeps me grounded and stops me from going insane…” He whispered with his eyes closed.
