Please don't let this moment just remain a memory.
The air was slowly starting to cool. The sky was dotted with stars, and the moon hung like a ball. You were all walking along the seashore in your sweaters, enjoying the last evening of summer. Minho and Kibum were joking around with each other, while Taemin was teasing Jinki for fun. You and Jonghyun were walking side by side behind them, following the group.
Getting to know each other hadn’t been difficult. After running into each other a few times in the neighborhood, Minho finally mustered the courage to say hello to you. One day they invited you for a walk, another day for a meal, and eventually you managed to become part of the group. Being with them was fun.
Being with him was fun.
There were few moments when you were alone with Jonghyun. No one really understood when you had become so close. When asked, you both laughed and said the same thing. Don’t be ridiculous, we’re just friends.
No one else seemed to understand him like you did. No one else seemed to understand you like him. When you were with him, you could tell him what you wanted to say with just one look. When he was with you, he could make his intentions clear with just one gesture. You didn’t even need to talk to communicate with each other. You were like puzzle pieces that completed each other. Of course, it didn’t take long for others to realize this too.
Kibum gave you all a few sparklers, and you were having fun in your own way, drawing shapes in the air. You imitated them with a smile on your face. You drew circles by waving the sparkler in the air. “Are you having fun?” asked a familiar voice. Jonghyun was right next to you, as always. You immediately smiled excitedly. “Of course, and you?”
He looked at you for a long time, staring at the sparkler in his hand. The light outlined his features, his eyes practically shining. “I’m so happy that I’m really scared this moment will just remain a memory.”
