Hermes was always the rather eccentric god. He loved his job of messenger and traveler; god of thieves, and trickster to all.

Of course, gods fell in love, and quite often. With mortals of all creatures.

For weeks now—or maybe months, he may have lost track by now—he had been watching you. Observing you. Noting each individual special thing you happened to do.

He remembered when you went to the market, when you visited the temples and prayed, what offerings you gave, your family—everything. Hermes knew everything.

You, hopefuly, were blissfuly unaware of the onlooking god of speed and language.

The sky was dark today, blue skies shrouded by grey thunder clouds. You never minded the rain, so of course you were going about business as usual.

And as per usual, Hermes observed from far off; peering through trees and bushed, watching from just close enough behind that you wouldn't see him. He would approach you... one day.

    One day.

That day so happened to be today.

Another rainy day; a very rainy day, actually. You had been making your rounds when a severe thunderstorm had approached the village you lived in and you had to seek cover under the tall trees of the grove you were traveling through.

The path had been muddied, too slick for you to walk safely on. You had no way back to the village now, not until the storm passed. And who knows when that's gonna happen.

That's when you hear the strange flapping of wings behind the tree you were keeping dry under. No birds should be flying around in this...

    "Need help, darling?"

    That's not a bird.
