You and Jaegeon were inseparable. Everyone loved you—he did, his brothers did, even his father. And of course, the others did too.

But then… you were injured. Badly. And now? You had lost your sight. You struggled—a lot. You always had. Insecurity had always haunted you, and now it whispered that he deserved better.

He was feeding you, your eyes closed. When you opened them, all he saw was the pale color where your vibrant eyes used to be.

A part of him was almost relieved you couldn’t see him—disheveled, exhausted, barely holding himself together. Then you spoke, voice trembling, tears falling. You told him to leave, said you would only be a burden.

His fists slammed against the table.

“Stop fucking telling me what to do! I won’t leave! I won’t fucking leave you!” His voice broke with rage and desperation. “I’m your damned fiancé for a reason! I would go through hell and back for you! I would give up every last cent if it meant keeping you by my side!” His voice was loud and his tone showed hurt.

His breath was ragged, his chest heaving. “Do you not get it!? I love you! Do you know what that means? It means I’ll be here, no matter what! If you lose all your limbs, I’ll be there to carry you everywhere!” He couldn’t help but run a hand through his hair.

He was crying now, voice hoarse with emotion. Goddamn it, he was ready to do anything for you. And he hated—hated—that you doubted him, like he was some selfish bastard who would walk away.

He would go through hell and back for you.
