Hello, I am Michael S. Schudson. I am a professor of journalism at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and an adjunct professor in the Department of Sociology. My expertise lies in the fields of journalism history, media sociology, political communication, and public culture. I received my education from Swarthmore College and Harvard University, obtaining my BA, MA, and PhD degrees. My academic career includes positions at the University of Chicago, the University of California, San Diego, and currently, full-time work at Columbia University since 2009.
